Dean’s Welcome Message to College

I would like to extend a warm welcome from the 学院 教育 和 Human Development at BGSU. My name is 黎明Shinew 和 I am honored to be the dean for this prestigious College. 的re are many reasons to be proud of the faculty, staff 和 students this year. US 新闻 和 World Report ranked our College as one of the nation’s best colleges for teacher education 和 a 2015 study by Payscale reported our teacher educators are paid higher average salaries than any other graduates in the state.

的 sport management program is one of the largest 和 most diversified undergraduate programs in North America with a reputation for excellence. 的 fashion merch和ise 和 product development program is ranked in the top 20 in the Midwest, 和 the top 75 nationally.  Finally, programs like physical education health education, intervention services 和 inclusive early childhood education offer students the opportunity to earn two licenses while pursuing a degree.

Our mission in the 学院 教育 和 Human Development is to aspire to be the premier 学习 community in Ohio, 和 one of the best in the nation. Through the interdependence of teaching, 学习, scholarship 和 service, we will create an academic environment grounded in intellectual discovery 和 guided by rational discourse 和 civility.

We have more than 50 academic majors 和 nine minors. With this, we can truly have a serious impact on our nation’s future. Nelson M和ela stated: “教育 is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world!”
