Quality classroom experiences

学生 receive a solid liberal arts foundation 和 develop refined analytical 和 communication skills, in addition to the skills 和 techniques required for their specific area of interest 在atre. A variety of production opportunities provides practical experience 在atre. Productions are presented 在 Donnell 剧院 和 the Eva Marie Saint 剧院, both located on campus 在 Wolfe Center for the 艺术.

Our alumni have gone on to produce, direct 和 perform in award-winning productions, such as 邪恶的 和 《摩门经.

The department annually awards a number of competitive scholarships to qualified undergraduate students 和 has various student employment opportunities, which allow students to develop their craft while receiving financial compensation.

学生 may apply for the BGSU exchange program with the University of Wales, the largest undergraduate theatre program in Great Britain 和 home of the prestigious Performance 火博体育网站 Centre. 伦敦之旅, an intensive immersion 在 London theatre scene, offers students another education abroad opportunity.

课程

剧院 majors may earn a Bachelor of 艺术 or a Bachelor of 艺术 in Communication. The Bachelor of 艺术 degree requires a minor. The Bachelor of 艺术 in Communication does not require a minor, but students choose a specialization in 代理/导演, design/technical theatre, musical theatre or youth theatre. Admission to the musical theatre program is through audition only. In addition to the liberal arts curriculum, theatre majors complete a series of three seminar 课程 on professional development 和 career preparation culminating with a senior portfolio review 和 audition.
