Understanding world 语言s and cultures are fundamental skills for today’s global citizens. 火博体育网站生s with proficiency in other 语言s are attractive job candidates in fields as diverse as the arts, 业务, 教育, 政府, 保健和社会服务, 国际关系, 新闻, 翻译服务.

Italy not only offers premier tourism careers, but is a major player in export industries and manufacturing, 尤其是奢侈品. While Italian 业务 abroad is often conducted in English, speaking the Italian 语言 will give you an advantage when seeking careers with Italian-speaking customers or 业务es.

课程

A minor in Italian requires 18 hours of 课程 at the 2000-4000 levels. 学生 must take 基本的意大利 and 中间的意大利, as well as elective Italian 课程. At least one elective needs to be at the 4000 level.

The Italian minor takes a cultural approach to learning the Italian 语言. Topics studied include art, 文学 and 电影.

Living in Italy – even if it is only for a short time – is a unique experience, 充满机会. Rome is the world’s largest outdoor museum. It is rich with churches, monuments and galleries. Because the culture of Rome is so rich and varied, the program organizes special 教育al tours to places of cultural importance through­out the city. The entire cost of these guided tours is included in the overall cost of the program.  

Also included is participation in co-curricular activities related to Italian and Classical culture, 包括参观博物馆, neighborhood tours and movies. Examples of past excursions outside of Rome include visits to Ostia, Naples and Pompeii.

学生 studying in the program stay in shared apartments arranged by our program partner in Italy, 但丁·阿利吉耶里. 学生 will be able to request a single room or double room, depending on availability. Ten meals (breakfast and lunch) per week will be provided through the school.
